You will explore works from classical antiquity, Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces, and works of modern and contemporary art. The ticket also allows access to the Sistine Chapel.

The Vatican Museums are the museums of the Vatican City and are located within the city’s boundaries. They display works from the immense collection built up by Popes throughout the centuries including some of the most renowned classical sculptures and Renaissance masterpieces.

The Sistine Chapel is one of the world’s most renowned art galleries, located in the Vatican City. It is renowned for its incredible frescoes and stunning architecture, and has been a destination for art lovers and religious pilgrims for centuries.

The Vatican Museums are open from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the last admission at 4:00 pm. The museums are closed on Sundays, with the exception of the last Sunday of the month when they are open and admission is free.
You can rent an audioguide directly at the museums on the day of the visit. The audioguide is available in languages such as English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese and Japanese.

Visitors should note that the Sistine Chapel is a sacred place, and therefore it is necessary to dress appropriately (no shorts, tank tops or uncovered shoulders).

Taking photographs inside the Sistine Chapel is prohibited.

The best way to arrive is by metro. The closest station is Ottaviano-San Pietro, located on Line A. There are also several bus lines that pass nearby. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or a private car.
